What I learned: WHEN THEY COINED THE EXPRESSION "THREE DOG NIGHT" THEY WERE NOT TALKING ABOUT CHIHUAHUAS!
How I learned it: The expression came from the thought that on cold nights the Eskimos would bring dogs in to sleep with and if it was a "three dog night" it was a really cold night! Those dogs were not Chihuahuas! I know this because Chihuahuas do NOT generate a lot of body heat! They are more like the space heater of the dog world. You can put them on a specific body part and that part will get warm enough, but to heat the whole bed...not so much! Now if we could just position all three cats AND the two dogs on the bed, we might be able to save a bit on the heating!
