Project 365-Day 34

Tonight after Ginger and I went to Lowe's to purchase carpet for the whole house we came home and took a nice long walk. Ginger really prefers not to walk when it is cold outside, I can actually feel her shivering all the way up her leash! Poor girl... But I figured with a cold (ish) snap coming through I would take her for a long walk tonight since she will be getting quick walks for the next few days. For some unknown reason when given a choice on a walk, Ginger will walk right up against any solid surface like houses, fences, walls, etc. It is a weird trait she has and that trait helped Charles map out the route she took when she got loose from our yard a few years ago. He mapped out all the fences in the area near our house and then pinpointed all the spots she was spotted at by neighbors calling in. He was able to narrow down the search on day two, to one street that he suspected she was on and while he and Sisterdear were putting fliers in mailboxes a nice old man asked if he was looking for a "pregnant Chihuahua". She was not pregnant, just fat and yes we were looking for her! So today's photo is of Ginger walking along one of those fences from her thwarted escape route!

Project 354-Day 33

I was asked a few days ago if I could do a rush job on a contract album for one of Jill O's friends. Since I have Thursday and Friday off from work and she needed it by Saturday I thought, "Sure, why not?" I started on Wednesday night when I got home and settled in to watch AI and just now (Friday 3pm) finished it! I worked until 4am last night 'cause I was on such a roll! The colors are the black/orange/grey/red from Basic Grey's Ambrosia line (one of my all time favs!) and the theme is generic "friendship"-very easy. In this photo you can see a bag of Goldfish cracker-not one of my healthy snack choices of late, but thanks to the boys and no recent trip to the grocery store-that and an apple is all I had! You will also see a TV remote-this is my best friend when scrapbooking. I love reality shows, but for late not crop sessions, nothing can beat TCM (Turner Classic Movies)! And since this month's featured actor is Jack Lemmon, you know I am in old-movie heaven! Then there is all the 'essential' scrapbooking supplies...Stickles, Scrappy Glue, Mrs. G's tweezers, brayer, Distressing Ink, grey brush pen...oh how I love the tools of our trade. Finally, of note in this pic is the font I used for the entire album-in black on the doggie page. It is QuicKutz' Stardust. I had to borrow it from the store's stash, but after using this font for the last couple of days I have to admit-I am in love with it! I just called the store to ask Jo to hold one for me so I can add one more (bleeping) font to my stash.
I still love doing P365. In fact today is Friday nigh date night and I am taking myself on a date since my sweetie is far, far away. I am gonna stage a funny pic with my popcorn and drink and an empty movie seat as my "date night" sans date!! Tomorrow with the giant Super Bowl sale at The Doodle my photo of that day will be of the huge crowds shopping.
Hope y'all have a great weekend!

Project 365-Day 27

I love my nails. I love my nail tech even more, so I thought I'd snap his picture for the project. It was so funny trying to explain what I was doing. Billy didn't want to take off his mask! He said, "I don't want my photo in a newspaper." He does such a great job and I am supremely grateful to Linda and Dee for recommending him! He works out of Trinity Nail Spa if anyone is interested.

Then that evening Stace and I headed to The Doodle for the Friday night crop. It is great when we get to sit and work on our stuff. Stacey has a class on Saturday (15 people!!) and she did class prep while I got to work on Project 365. Jackie and Dianne joined us and we had a blast! We ate take out from the Red Mesa Cantina next door and it was so yummy! Jackie, my friend, you were pretty fuuny working on your P365 and learning about your new Slice purchace! I'm sitting next to you at all crops! Oh and you shared your dessert with me too! Gotta love that!

Project 365-Day 23

This was a photo taken on Inauguration Day! A few of us from The Doodle are totally addicted to "Chicago popcorn". You can only get this popcorn from either Garretts or Nuts on Clark in Chicago. It is cheese and caramel corn, and the idea is to eat them at the same time. It truly is food heaven! Anyway, Kim's sweet sister knows we are addicted and brought us some home from her recent visit! So, after the Inauguration event I enjoyed my spectacular, Chicago snack in honor of #44!

My new best freind...

A few weeks ago Stacey and I were doing the WSD shopping at Sam's and I walked by an end cap with this collapsible hand cart for $22. I thought, "Why not? I am forever schlepping stuff all over." So I bought it. Today was the first time that I got to use it when I was hauling Christmas boxes from our storage unit (we have no garage on our house). What a wonderful purchase! It folds up to be no higher than 3" and no bigger than 15" x 18", so if stores nicely in my car. And it easily lifted my plastic boxes and hauled them! I just wish I had found this before I moved all the stuff I packed up from the house to the storage unit!

Project 365-Day 20

Yesterday's photo is one I am stealing from Stacey.

I got a call yesterday evening to see if I wanted to go to dinner with Stacey and her family and since I had eaten a bit already, I begged off. About 45 minutes later I get a frantic call to see if I would watch Henry while they took Nic to the ER with "his head split open". Henry arrives with Chick-fil-a and we wait while we watch Bob-Bob (AKA-SpongeBob). It wasn't too long before they were back saying, "Let's go to DQ." Nico's head was fine. Just a giant hematoma that, thank goodness, went down with ice. Not one to pass on a Blizzard, I hopped in the van and off we went. Knowing full well I shouldn't go out in public-no make up, no bra, no shower and house slippers on!! Thankfully we ate in the van. On the way home we stopped at Wal-Mart to pick up Nico's meds (and my latest 365 photos from the lab!) and I was so embarrassed walking around in Wal-Mart! Especially since I had purchased said house slippers just one day before from that exact store!
All in all it was fun. Nico got the shrimp he originally wanted, plus a DQ treat and then Legos from Wal-Mart. Not too shabby for having to fall down and gash your noggin! Sorry sweet boy....Aunt Cissy really feels bad for you.

More photos from Charles

I am so gald that I got Charles a camera for his birthday. He seems to really like taking photos and with a shared Picasa account it is so easy to share!

Here are some of the ones he just sent me:

This is Charles' desk and his car frozen up. See the iciles hanging from the bumper and Kiwi sitting in the driver's seat?

This is his favorite coffee shop in downtown Mansfield. He goes there about 2-3 times a week!

I am so glad that he is doing well in PA. He says it all seems like an adventure still. I hope he keeps taking cool photos and sending them down to FL!

Project 365-Day 10

One of the cool things about Charles living in PA is that I now have two cameras with two very different lives happening that I can get pictures of for my 365 album. I am not making it just from my perspective. When I get photos from Charles, I am sending him the little journaling card so I can get him to fill out the journaling for those photos.

Here is one he sent me tonight. He said it has been really cold lately-I'm sure you've heard the news about the yucky weather up north. He says he wakes up and it is 3 below. Yikes! Anyway, he says that the snow doesn't melt before the next snow plow has to clear the streets, so this photo was taken at the Wal-Mart entrance. It shows many days of piled up snow! You can see the top of a semi peeking over the pile! Wowzers!
I can hardly wait....

Project 365-Day 17

Sunday's Photo: I was laying in bed last night, with no photo taken that day and not really thinking about a photo when Elphaba jumped up and joined me and Ginger. I heard Ginger under her blanket "cleaning" herself and I started talking to them both. (Before you start thinking I am losing it because I am talking to my animals, let me assure that it is not for the lack of another human in the house, I have always carried conversations with my furry companions!) Anyway...I was telling them that dogs and cats are down on the evolutionary scale because they lack opposing thumbs. I was telling them that those of us with opposing thumbs are able to do amazing things like play tennis, use objects to carry food to our mouths, play a ukulele and-very important-use toilet paper to wipe our behinds! As I was looking into the sweet faces of those digit-deficient critters, I remembered a quote/concept from one of my all-time favorite books by one of my favorite authors, Bluebeard by Kurt Vonnegut. In Bluebeard, we are in a time in the very far future where humans have de-evolved back into a fishey form and an observer (who follows man throughout time) notes that humans are not as violent in their fish form and that "you can't shoot a gun with just your flippers and your mouth". So I tell my kiddos to stay sweet and to hold still while mama uses her thumb to grab her camera....

Project 365-Day 13

This is my photo from today. Stacey, Nico and I had a great day shopping at Sam's for the crop at WSD, having breakfast at Mom's diner and then splurging at a new custard shop we stumbled upon. It is called Rita's and lemme tell you-it is SUPER yummy! Stacey had a frozen coffee with chocolate custard on top (she was delirious!), Nico had Key Lime ice and I had a Gelati which was layered custard (vanilla) and ice (tangerine). Holey moley this was a great find. Their motto is "Ice*Custard*Happiness" and they are right! If you are in the Tampa area and want a yummy (and not break-th-bank expensive!) treat head to N. Dale Mabry, in the plaza where the Brunchery used to be.

Project 365-Days 3, 4. 6, 7 & 15

I have jumped in with both feet to CK's Project 365. Lovin' every minute of taking these photos and waiting to see what the next photo will be! Since Charles is now living in PA, I am gonna have to get him to take more "slice of life" photos for me to add to the book, so that the book isn't all about me and the Florida lifestyle!
Here are some of the photos I have waiting to go into my album:

Painting the baseboards...yuck!

Minnie Mae and her new scratchey box.

My new love!

Teaching the UTEE class at The Doodle.

Ginger just home from the hospital.
Later!
